Truely beautiful cellular automata music on the launchpad. Not your normal way of creating music but it certainly sounds good.

This was coded using cellular automata algorithms adapted for the launchpad. Midi yoke was then used to send midi data to a synth which created the sound.

The buttons on the right hand side toggle between different algorithms and the bottom row of buttons is mapped to a major scale, which the program moves through in a 12 bar pattern.

Strange how random notes sound good but in the words of boards of canada, “music is maths”.
